| So i got an email from one of my friends who regularly follows my blog and he asked, Are you on Lent on Blogging?!
well... no, I just found Facebook....
anyways.
Loads of stuff happened for the past month and a bit. Both happy and sad. But somethings remained unchanged... God is faithful. God is Good.
i can't even go into detail of the sad news cause it simply hurts too much to talk about it. Andrea and Joni, I completely understand what you're going through. I am continuing to pray for you and your parents.
so let me elaborate a little more about the Good news. June 30th- July 10: God did some amazing things in my life. By the grace of God, I went to Korea to the CM 2007 conference. I think He added more fuel in my fire to keep on burning. 20,000 people all over the world worshiping ONE TRUE GOD is totally inspiring. as well, an event like this couldn't be more appropriate to be held in Korea, given the Christianity presence and the history behind the country. I simply cannot put my experience into words right now. I'm still undergoing my 'debrief' moments. and still tasting and chewing on the words that the speakers spoke.
so as i'm counting down my days to head back to canada. I have a little less than a month. looking back, God really opened my eyes and let me dream and think about the impossible and making that a reality! a part of me want to be in denial, but another part of me wants to look ahead of what He has in store. I can't wait to tell my friends in canada of how faithful and Good God is, but I'm definately sad about leaving a bunch of great, hopefully life-long friends in HK. But God's grace is sufficient and His Power is made perfect in my weakness. So i guess i should buckle up once again, cause it's gonna be a WILD (and exciting) RIDE next year. | | |
| ALRIGHT TREACLES!
it's been a LONG time since my last blog. It's been quite an eventful couple of weeks. Which included couple of friends from calgary to visit, exams, papers, some traveling. It's been a ride so far!
So my term ended on mid-may. I can't say i cared too much with how well i do. which is kind of a weird feeling especially coming from me. I think i did the best that i could and the rest is really up to God.
After studying and exams and slaving away with papers, i've decided that i needed a vacation... a cheap vacation and therefore, our family went to Sanya for a couple of days for some RnR. literally.... lying on the beach for the whole day and swim in the South China Sea, it's pretty awesome i gotta say. and this was topped with living in a fancy resort completely had me fell in love with the place, and most important of all... IT'S CHEAP!
So what's next? well, God has been AWESOME, and so faithful of his providence. During my exam weeks, i had a couple of interviews with various companies. And each interview had prepped me better for the next one (Blessing number 1), i also had a chance to have an interview with a pretty well known airline caterer (gate gourmet). Although i didn't get the job, i thought it was a great experience.
While in Sanya, i received a rather unexpected phone call. Months ago, i had some connections in which allowed me to submit my resume to a really large airline caterer. Even i forgot about it until this lady from HR called! I was completely gob-smacked. and now, i'm working in the world's largest airline catering company as a summer intern! God already has His timing months ago! I'm a little ashamed to even doubt Him before. For those who talked to me before, airline catering is my absolute dream industry. I'm a trainee in the production department doing some cost control programs and some yielding tests. This summer intern definitely will be a key stepping stone for my future careers, especially within the industry. God is Good, All the time.
I'm totally Thankful. It's totally God who gives me this job.
so that's what's going on right now. I really do hope i can pick up the habit of blogging again.

| I was challenged to ask this question to the people of Hong Kong by Betty (the CampusAlumni Team leader) for the CA newsletter.
And so I did, i asked around people on my campus, strangers that i see in the Subway station and also my friends. Some of the responses were kinda funny, some were kind of shocking to me. like 'it would be a place with Lots of Money and Gold' or 'A place with women' (yes i actually got that as an answer!)
But overwhelmingly, most people i asked haven't really thought about it. they were simply just too busy in worrying their life on earth. completely shifting their focus from eternal to the worldly. I don't blame them cause I find myself do the same thing time to time, especially in the Hong Kong culture. (that's probably one of the main reasons that i don't like HK so much) but anyway...
This question totally opened doors for more serious spiritual questions to be asked. and it did, and the Lord totally blessed this oppurtunity as i got a chance to witness on campus! It was completely by God's grace and His preparation of people's heart that 2 local students prayed to recieved Christ!
Now THAT'S COOL!
So my challenge to you peeps is to ask this question to your non-believer friends. And may this question be an oppurtunity to further His Kingdom.
*****************************************************************************************************************
anyway, what i've been up to these days.... well, to put it in short... Nothing new has happened.
my DG is going well, BSF is still awesome and helping out with the CampusAlumni network is continually to be a great experience.
But in light of the great things happened this semester, I do see satan is doing his work in preventing God's Kingdom to be expanded.
So i'm writing a small request to you guys. please pray for me! pray that the devil's work in me will be abandoned. and that i may continually have a renewed, refreshed focus on the Lord. if you wanna know in the whole story, email me....
but i know that The Lord will reign forever, satan is gonna be destroyed! I'm strucked down a little but definately not destroyed cause God's grace and His mercy covers me.
lets continue to be infectious for the Lord!

| Salaam (peace in Swahili) It has indeed been a while that i've blogged. Things had been crazy. but in a good way.
Now school has already started 3 weeks (going to my 4th). however, for some reason, it still feels like i'm in the 2nd week of class, where everything is still new. but before I knew it, midterm exams are approaching fast and furious.
On jan 15th, I've started my first session of BSF studying the book of Phillipians. Although there are some akwardness going to the class and the lectures, I think God is totally going to Rock my world with His word. It was great to just think of the scriptures all day to try to think of the answers of questions. And i guess my painful 1hr commutes to school are not wastes of time. I usually read the srcripture while on the bus and just ponder at it, think about it for the day and then try to do the question that night. all in all. it's a great book, and it totally helped me in my walk with God, just to think how Great He is. Eventhough i've only read 2 chapters, it already helped me in knowing Christ deeper. it's awesome.
The discipleship training with Karl is continuing very well, it totally helped me and i've learned a lot in how Jesus ran His ministry on Earth and His motives. In terms of ministry wise. God continues to amaze me everyday, and i continue to see the Blessings that He has on the ministry. Met another girl from QeensU, colleen. So on january 25th, it was our 'Staying Sane in HK' outreach. We originally prayed for 40 international students to come to the event (about 10% of the intl pop.)... we had 10 or so people showed up. dispite the low turn out rate, i still think that the event was a success. The number of people showed up did not bother me at all. I think that those 10 are the 10 people that the Lord had convicted them to come. The event it self i think, went really well, i had to 'teach' them some basic cantonese phrases and also recommended some places to go in HK. and Karl took care of the gospel aspects of things. of all the comments which we collected, we can proudly say that God definately showed us hope. we only have 1 'no' to the gospel, and the others are 'yes' and 1 'maybe' which is AWESOME! i guess we'll be busy this coming week to followup with the people who attended the event... to share some of the excitement, here are some of the comment which we got from the cards...
Q: What did you like best? Language pronunciation / where to go Places to shop and see The speaking in Cantonese HK must dos / tips on buying things useful phrases the numbers / all the locations
Q:What else would you want included? Nothing! just a little shorter - a little long more chocolate ... just kidding! Maybe ways to get involved / meet people places to eat good chinese food ice breakers / more info about campus
The average score of the event was a 8.2 (10 is best, 1 is worst)
So i think that the Lord really blessed the event. I think that there are a lot of students there can be have a huge potential in affecting others for Christ, even when they are back to their home campus. So lets continue to pray about that, pray that the Lord will continue to bring the 'right' people into the ministry, at the end, it's not the quantity, it's the quality, people with the right material who can carryon with His ministry that He entrusts us to do.
From what it looks like, we can actually start 2 groups of D/Gs (1guys and 1girls) so Praise God for He allows us to do it. As well, Got a call from Karl 2 days ago, HKU wanted to do somthing similar for their international students and so we're going to HKU to do the same thing! God is TOO GOOD! He not only wants intl students from CUHK to be excited about His work, he also wants HKU students, I can totally feel that this could be CONTAGIOUS... in a good way of course.
Photos are on its way, just have to get it transfered to my computer. i'll totally upload them for sure... even on xanga! whao!! so stay tuned!!
on another note, I got my HKID... meaning that i have the right to abode in Hong Kong. whoop-D-doo... not sure how useful it will be, but doesn't hurt... sad thing is that i can't get a return home card. (long story behind that) but oh well i guess i'll be doing visas.
so that's what's been happening in my life... in this part of the world!
Just remember...
ROCK ON FOR HIS KINGDOM... God Bless
